Our Annual Flower Fund Appeal
(Page Last Updated 5th May 2026)
As our treasurer (me!) never ceases to remind everyone, all the floral displays are paid for by local residents and businesses - NONE of the money comes from the Council...Unfortunately, concerns about the safety of the brackets and the difficulties installing and watering the hanging baskets have led Blaise Nursery to make the decision to stop this service, both here and in Clifton. We are looking to alleviate some of the impact by increasing the number of tubs and planters, with several already in place and more to be purchased this year.
This year, we have arranged for donation envelopes to be included with the May edition of BS9 magazine. If, for some reason, you don't receive one, then you can still make a donation, either direct to Rosemary Evitts at 8 Henbury Road, BS9 3HJ, to Malcolm Neave at 39 Southdown Road, BS9 3NJ or through the collecting boxes at Sarah C greengrocers and We Make Bristol.
If you would like to make a donation by bank transfer, our details are:
Account Name: The Westbury on Trym Society
Sortcode 20-13-34
Account 00942723
please put FF and your surname in the payment reference...
As with everything else, the costs of planting and watering rise every year, with last year's bill amounting to just over £13,000, so I would please ask everyone to give whatever you can to the appeal
As of May 8th, we have raised £2,035 !
